The use of the ‘close-up’ is one of the characteristics of photographic arts. Getting in close is something that photographers do to show the detail, texture and form of the subject. The use of the close-up in all sorts of photography has left it an open art form. Yet the difficulty is that the ‘close-up’ is open to interpretation.
